"Against the idol to Halle"
Initially, Luther had high hopes about a young archbishop of Mainz and later Cardinal which he wrote in a letter to him. However, Luther soon realised that Albrecht had just written himself on papal indulgences - not without self-interest.
At first, the highest-ranking German church prince Albrecht von Brandenburg tried to mediate, but was in the end a fierce opponent of the Lutheran Reformation, which led Martin Luther to a nonsense "Against the idol of Halle" prompted.
