Rome at the time of the Coronavirus
At the Scuderie del Quirinale the exhibition 'Raffaello' (Raphael) inaugurated a week ago is closed.
Center of Rome Rome has become a desert.
Coronavirus turns...
Raphaël - A spoiled birthday party
Raphael, one of the most gifted painters of the Renaissance, died prematurely at the age of 37 in Rome - in the city where the 500th anniversary of his death should have been celebrated with a major exhibition event at the Quirinal Stables in Rome.

More than 100 works, drawings and paintings, including nearly 40 works on loan from the Uffizi Gallery and 5 works by the Louvre should have been exhibited from 5th March 2020 to 2nd June 2020.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Italian authorities sadly had to close the exhibition to the public, three days after its opening.

Our Rome-based photographer, Éric Vandeville, had the chance to photograph the works on display and their audience on the opening day.

Please enjoy this exceptional exhibition - remotely!
