At the age of twenty Walter Limot became the first still photographer for the German cinema industry. He worked for many famous directors such as Fritz Lang, Kurt Bernhardt and Georg Wilhelm Pabst.
When the Nazis came to power in Germany in 1933, the photographer fled to Paris where he continued to work in French cinema and documented over 120 films during his career.
